Starting out

After having "blog envy" for awhile, I thought it was high time that we started our own! No promises on how often posts will be made, but my goal is at least once a week!

Summer has been flying by for us. When school ended in May, we took a vacation to Gabe's dream city: New York. We first traveled to Gatlinburg where we stayed a few days, then on to NYC where we rented an apartment.

In New York, we explored the city via a double decker bus. Gabe loved ToysRus in Times Square. We had to ride the ferris wheel there three times! We took a carriage ride in Central Park to celebrate my birthday, and had dessert at Serendipity 3. The Museum of Natural History amazed us, especially our dinosaur fanatic.

Gabe loved the views from the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. We ended our NYC portion of the trip with a sunset cruise on the Hudson.

We were then off to Niagara Falls, where we were in awe of the beauty of God's creation. It was spectacular! So spectacular that we knew we needed to extend our trip there by another night.

We rode the Maid of the Mist which took us right up to the falls. I can honestly say I had never felt so small as I stood there on the boat with the loud noise of the falls all around us. Looking up at the rushing water filled me with such respect and reverence for the greatness of God. Our God is truly mighty and great!

The Creation Museum on the border of Kentucky and Ohio was our next stop. We had been receiving Answers in Genesis newsletters for the past year, and truly desired to see the museum. It was well worth the stop! It was filled with Biblical information that was presented in ways that were pleasing to the senses. We all very much enjoyed it.

On the last leg of our journey, we made a surprise stop at Dino World for Gabe! I must say that even David & I liked it. The dinosaurs were lifesize and scattered throughout the woods. We had to follow a trail to find them and view them in a natural habitat setting.

Our trip took us a total of 11 days and more gallons of gas than I would probably want to think about! The memories we made were invaluable though.
