America's Birthday

We had such a great time on our 4th of July! We hung American bunting & flags across the front porch. Grandpa, Nana, Bernie, Alex, Ms.Brittany, and baby Tiffany all came from Columbus to spend the day with us. They brought Nana's famous cheeseball. (which we all enjoyed) Gabe had such a fun time being the center of attention. He entertained all.

Grammy, Grandaddy, Grandmother, and Aunt V came a little while later to have supper with us. David was King of the Grill and did a fabulous job on some burgers, hot dogs, and sausage. Ms. Mandy brought her extraordinary grape salad, and Grandmother brought the potato salad. We also had homemade guacomole, and a few other dips to eat with chips. Gabe made a flag cake in honor of our nation's birthday. Unfortunately, we were all too full to even take a bite!

After supper, it was time for the M-Braves game. It was packed! I went to the concession stand to pick up drinks for everybody. ($32 for 8 20 oz bottle drinks) The lines were terrible. You'd think at those prices, there might have been less people in line. The Braves won the game easily. The other team didn't get a single run in. We all enjoyed the fireworks afterward. They were set to patriotic music and lit up the night sky. All in all, it was a great ending to a great day.
